About Banagher

Banagher Hotels & Information

Banagher is a town in the Republic of Ireland, located on the western edge of County Offaly in the midlands of Ireland. Banagher was originally built to guard a crossing point on the nearby River Shannon just south of River Brosna and Shannon converging point. The town is the home of the Banagher Concrete Group, the company who made the blocks and internal rings for the Channel Tunnel. The Community Development group West Offaly Partnership is also located in Banagher in the Crank House building, they cover west and south Offaly.

Traditionally, Banagher was of Irish and English residents, with some Germans, Dutch and Swiss. As with the rest of Ireland, it now boasts a wide range of Polish, Russians, Slovaks and Roma.
