Kerry Hotels & Information

County Kerry, situated in the South-West of Ireland is bordered by Limerick and Cork and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Kerry, traditionally known as The Kingdom, is the most visited county in Ireland.

Kerry has two contrasting types of landscape, the mountainous south with including the Beara, Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas, and the smaller plains area that stretches as far north as the Shannon estuary. The Iveragh Penninsula includes the world-famous Ring of Kerry that offer a picturesque driving option. The coast is a mix of cliffs, roccky outcrops and beatiful beaches.

Kerry also has several islands that you can visit including Valentia Island, The Blasket Islands and the remote Skelligs Islands, where you will find the ruins of Ireland's earliest monastic settlements. The Magillicuddy Reek Mountains are home to Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil which is 1039 metres high.

Kerry is home to the well known Rose of Tralee festival which takes place in August every year. It is more famouus for its Gaelic football prowess and Kerry is one of the most successful counties in winning the Sam Maguire, Gaelic footballs most coveted trophy. The Kerry Gaeltacht areas, where Irish is the main spoken language, are located on Dingle and Iveragh Penninsulas.
