For beautiful gardens and walks, the Arcadian gardens of Larchill in Kilcock are less than 15 minutes away. Close by in neighbouring Straffan is the Straffan Butterfly Farm, and in Maynooth University (St. Patrick's College), one of the oldest in Ireland, there is the Maynooth Visitors Centre adjacent to Maynooth Castle.
