Directions to Tierneys Guesthouse from Cork Airport Turn right at the roundabout at entrance, taking the R600 direct to Kinsale.

Local Attractions & Facilities Desmond Castle and the newly opened wine museum Charles and James Forts Yacht Club Marina, Kinsale Water sports Golf Horse riding Tennis River and sea–fishing. Compass Hill > Compass Hill is just south of Main Street and it can be climbed in less than half an hour. There are spectacular views from the top of the hill. Charles Fort > The British occupied Charles Fort until 1922. Built is the seventeenth century it is a fine example of military science. The Fort is two miles from Kinsale. Desmond Castle > The castle is well worth a visit and there are local guides to show you around. There is a world map made from wine corks that is well worth the visit. The Courthouse > The Courthouse in Market Square dates from 1600. There was an inquest held here after the sinking of the Lusitania off the coast of Cork in 1915. The Courthouse is largely unchanged from that period.
