Just north of the larger island of Cobh, the scenic Fota Island is in Cork Harbor just off the N25 road from Cork to Waterford. The island is host to Ireland's only wildlife park, as well as the historic Fota House with its famous gardens. Located 20 minutes from Cork Airport, we are centrally located for exploring Southern Ireland.
Our hotel is nine kilometers from the city of Cork, the 2006 “European Capital of Culture.” Founded over 1,000 years ago by St. Finbarr, Cork has grown from a trading merchant city on the water to the thriving cosmopolitan city it is today. It is home to many galleries, museums, theatres, and artist workshops. Its calendar is filled with annual festivals, from jazz and sailing to film and choral.
