Marlfield House has been renowned for its lavish and warm hospitality since the Earls of Courtown opened its doors to friends and guests in the 1830’s. They would never have imagined that almost 150 years later their home would become one of Ireland’s most celebrated luxurious country house hotels.
Events in Irish history including the famine affected the fortunes of the estate but the house retained the elegance and style of the period in which it was built. In 1977 the Bowe family bought the house from the Earls of Courtown and once again opened its doors to guests. Together they supervised every detail of its restoration and over the years have filled its graciously proportioned rooms with wonderful antiques, period furniture, works of art and sumptuous fabrics.
Set on 35 acres of grounds and woodlands Marlfield offers guests luxury and personal service in scenic surroundings. It is the ideal setting for touring the beauty spots of south Wicklow, Kilkenny and Waterford.
At Marlfield House we believe that true relaxation is a hotel room that exceeds all expectations.
A hotel room should be a place for indulgence as you listen and watch new release DVDs, a long soak in the bath with tempting bath products as you sip champagne… and Marlfield has all the magic ingredients to truly relax and tempt you from open fires to wonderful food. Can you resist?
