The Waterfront Hotel is registered 3 stars with the Irish Hotels Federation. The Guest House over looks the harbour of Baltimore with exceptional views of the sea and local Islands. The hotel has confortable spacious rooms and pleasant decor with all modern facilities and utilities included.
Our intention is to combine the charm and relaxed characteristics of West Cork and Baltimore with affordable modern up to date accommodation to insure your stay is made as comfortable as possible. We would like to make your visit to the village of Baltimore, West Cork, Ireland a memorable and most enjoyable one.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: We would like to inform our guests that we have just completed a new central reception area and bar on our premises which opened this Christmas 2007. There will be 5 new bedrooms and a new restaurant opening in spring 2008. The new bedrooms and restaurant are blocked off from the existing guesthouse at present until interior fit–out is completed.
The Waterfront Hotel Rooms
The Waterfront Hotel offers 8 large guest bedrooms with en–suite. All our rooms have been purpose built to the most modern standards. Rooms are brightly decorated with furnishings that reflect the West Cork character and charm. Furniture is modern, with a light sprinkling of Georgian and Victorian pieces.
Our rooms have been designed and layed out to be as comfortable, spacious and internationally friendly as possible. Our intention is to offer home from home comforts to all our guests allowing them to enjoy the unique charm and characteristics of Irish hospitality. Our entire guest house and accommodation facilities have been recently renovated and built to the highest specifications. All our Bedrooms include Bathroom en–suite, Satellite Television and Telephone.
The Waterfront Hotel Location
Baltimore is situated on the southern tip of Ireland in Co.Cork. Situated eight miles from the town of Skibbereen, Baltimore has a permanent population of just over two hundred, although it grows every summer with visitors who cannot help but return and who are now very much part of the local life.
As you might well guess, fishing and the sea have always played an important part in the history and economy of Baltimore. Many of the ruined castles standing sentinel on lonely headlands are the ancient homes of the piratical O'Driscoll clan, who once held sway over a thousand square miles of south–west Ireland.
