About Bellinter House

Standing majestically on the banks of the River Boyne in the rolling landscape of County Meath, Bellinter House exudes period glamour. And is located just under an hour from Dublin city and Dublin Airport.

The grounds at Bellinter are extensive and have sweeping lawns, ancient trees and a number of secluded spots to relax and laze. There is a labyrinth of local bridle paths, footpaths and trails to explore and bicycles and wellingtons are available for guests to borrow.

For the more energetic hot air ballooning, golf, horse riding and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged. With private fishing rights to 3 miles of the river Boyne, a ghillie to assist and gourmet picnics, Bellinter shines on the river.

The House meticulously preserves its classic Georgian heritage while enhancing it with the best of modern Irish design. Elaborate decorative plasterwork, marble fireplaces and wood paneled walls mix easily with elemental hand–made ash furniture, contemporary lighting, installation art and vintage and handmade furniture.

An Ancient Site: Bellinter House was built in 1750 and was designed by the renowned German architect Richard Castle or Cassels, who also designed the Irish Parliament, Leinster House in Dublin.

Within sight of the Hill of Tara, the ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland, Bellinter House was home to both the Briscoe and subsequently the Holdsworth families before being bought by the Sisters of Sion in 1965 who lived in this great Palladian pile.

Bellinter House Rooms

Have fun and sleep well on extra large beds, goose feather pillows and soft white linen. Furniture is hand made or vintage. Bathe in deep baths or sing in power showers, and 'slather and lather' with Voya, certified organic Irish seaweed cleansing products.

There are 34 bedrooms in Bellinter House. Each room is individually styled, and all include super large plasma screen TV's, DVD players, WIFI, centrally controlled mood lighting and Bose sound systems. The in–room drinks cabinet is both decadent and delicious, with vintage Fleurie sitting next to Curlywurleys!

Dining

The vaulted cellar is home to Eden Restaurant, sister to the award winning Eden in Temple Bar, Dublin. Menus in Eden are seasonally based and produce is sourced locally wherever possible.

The Drawing Room is the heart of the house and food is served here from 11am to 11pm.

The Cellar is our semi private dining room. Formerly a chapel, it is a unique space that can seat groups of up to 22 people for private lunches or dinners.

The Bellinter Bar with hand painted mural by David Godbold and an abundance of antlers, is open for drinks all day and serves tempting snacks 11am until 11pm.

The intimate Wine Bar in the basement is great for wine tastings and offers a great choice from an extensive wine list. There is also an excellent selection of cocktails, Irish and international whiskeys, aperitifs and digestifs.

Games Room & Library

The Library is located to the front of the house with views over the sweeping lawns. Bury your head in a book or immerse yourself in a newspaper and it will be time well spent. This room is also ideal for intimate meetings and business discussions.

The Games Room, a favorite getaway, has a billiards table with witty cloche lighting, a selection of board games, chess, playing cards and easy chairs to lounge in.

Bath House & Pools

The Bathhouse at Bellinter is so called because of the signature seaweed baths that are a specialty. There is also a wide range of holistic, rejuvenating and relaxing therapies and massage treatments available. Enjoy facials, wraps and manicures, then slip in to the sauna or steam room and dip into the infinity pool.

Corporate Facilities

Bellinter House is a great place to do business. The House is under an hour from Dublin city centre and two hours from Belfast. We have full conference and leisure facilities and are able to accommodate a variety of events – large or small.

Weddings
